Meet The Leaders

Kathy Lewis is UKA Off-Track Endurance Coach (CiRF), a Leader In Running Fitness (LiRF) and an Athletic Coach.

She initially joined as a runner at the end of the first beginners course, but decided to become a Leader in 2011 as she enjoyed running with the group so much.  

Kathy also enjoys triathlon an Ironman, (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike & 26.2 mile run).

Julia has been a dedicated runner with our group since 2009 when we first started, becoming a leader in 2014 – Leader In Running Fitness (LiRF) and Assistant Athletic Coach.  Julia also enjoys coaching swimming & cycling.

She is a wonderful asset to our team with her calm manner and supportive charm.

Julia is a keen triathlete and also knows all the best running routes around Tewkesbury!

Helen Gould, again since 2009 has been running with the group, made the transition up to Leader In Running Fitness (LiRF) and Assistant Athletic Coach.

Helen loves clocking up the miles with over a 1000 in 2016, earning her 2016 Allrunners runner of the year. Helen’s 2017 challenge was a 50K ultra marathon. “Running and chatting go hand in hand…..it’s good for our physical and our Mental Health.  Helen is our Mental Health Ambassador for England Athletics. Have a chat with Helen, (or any of us) you are feeling a bit low or you would like some advice. Let’s talk more!! 😘 

”  Helen’s lovely friendly style has her group smiling all the way round.

Gemma Milisc – Allrunners runner of the year 2014.

Gemma is able to turn her feet to any event including the London and Worcester Marathons,(she ran both just 3 weeks apart) and numerous Mud runners as well as the more usual outings such as Tewkesbury Half and many 10k’s.

Gemma is also able to turn her hand to numerous bakes including fabulous flapjacks.

Linda Coxshall,  completed Leader in Running Fitness course.  

2015 runner of the year and enters races for the t-shirts.

One of the original members who turned up at the first run, enjoys the social side of running with chatting and happy to eat any cake available.

Claire Beck, Claire enjoys off road runs,  completing the Dirt Run 5 challenge in 2017. A very encouraging leader to newer members of the club, Claire can often be found carrying out the little extra jobs within the club that make it all come together.

Our Founder, Kerry Newell is an UKA Off-Track Endurance Coach (CiRF), qualified England Athletics Coach (CA), a Leader In Running Fitness (LiRF) and Tutor for UK Athletics, who has run for past 25 years at club level, she also coaches middle distance athletes for Gloucester AC.

She currently splits her daytime between working as the Run England Co-ordinator for England Athletics, coaching Strength & Conditioning classes and as a one to one performance coach.

On top of all that, her main distractions are her two young girls –
